Would you like to be a part of the cabin crew? There are several different ways to help out at the cabin, depending on how much you want to participate. As a thanks you for your service we offer accommodation and food, and some other advantages depending on which position you are in at the cabin. You might also get some new friends along the way!

Following are the ways you can participate at the cabin. More information follows down below.
- “Hyttevakt” (non committing voulanteer, help out as often as you like)
- Cabin group member (2-4 times a month, approx. 8-10 hours a month)
- Cabin board member (1 workday a week, approx. 6 hours)
This is for those who would like to help us out one, two or more times at the cabin. It is a great way to get to know the cabin without being bound to any position. As a “hyttevakt” you will help out in the kitchen and the cabin group to run the cabin on normal weekend openings by serving food, fill up the woodshed with wood, clean the sauna and the cabin and stand in the bar. As a thank you, you will get the accommodation and food at the cabin for free. You will have to expect some hours of work, but there will also be time to relax and enjoy what the cabin and Bymarka has to offer.

Cabin group member
When the cabin is booked for a party there is always at least one cabin group member present at the cabin. The member’s job is then to show the “hyttevakter” how to work the bar, how to open and close the cabin, counting the products etc. as a member of the cabin group you will in general have more responsibility then the “hyttevakter”. This responsibility comes with the expectation that you will help out approx. one weekend and one party a month.
To thank you for your service, you will be able to stay at the cabin for free when it is open, and you are allowed to enjoy the cabin for private use when it is closed.
To join the cabin group you will have to take part in our recruitment in the beginning of each semester. This consist of a short interview where we can get to know you better, and you the cabin and some of us working there. The recruitment for fall 2020 har already started! Cabin board member
The cabin is a registered company where the board is responsible for its operations. The specified positions in the board is leader, deputy leader, maintenance responsible, event coordinator, treasurer, booking responsible, kitchen chief, and bar- and sauna chief.
As a board member you will do the suitable work according to your position, but also help other board members and the cabin group when they need it and get their help in return. The board members meet on a weekly basis to discuss matters concerning the cabin.
The board members get accommodation and food for free at the cabin and are free to use it outside of the regular open days.
